Happy Holidays from UBC Press

This year, UBC Press will be donating money saved from the printing and mailing of our holiday greeting cards to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières. We have chosen this exceptional organization as a way of celebrating the arrival in Canada of Eli Bizualem Ford this past September. Eli, who was born in Ethiopia, is the adopted son of our Senior Editor, Emily Andrew, and her spouse, Brant Ford. MSF has worked in Ethiopia since 1984, delivering essential health care to rural areas, providing emergency response to people affected by natural disasters, and conducting exploratory missions in conflict-affected zones. Their teams assist people who are in urgent need of medical care, including many children suffering from malnutrition. From their 51 feeding centers, MSF has been able to treat over 20,000 people in the last few months.

You, too, can donate directly: http://www.msf.ca/
